Look at Genesis Chapter 3. The “Story” is of a Fall – an account of good and evil, of lost innocence and goodness, of how suffering began. It shows the disruption of relationships between humanity and God, men and women, humanity and nature.

 

What is important about the story is that it begins with understanding that we are essentially good. “And God saw all that he had made and behold it was very good.
